My eldest son wanted to play chess but he doesn't have a sparring partner. Coincidently, he found the Chess game pre-installed in the Mac PC. Seeing their big brother beating the computer easily, the younger sister and brother subsequently joined the game as well.
Anak sulung mahu bermain catur tetapi tidak mempunyai teman saingan. Secara kebetulan, dia terjumpa permainan catur yang telah siap terpasang di dalam PC Mac. Melihat abang mereka menang menentang komputer dengan mudah, adik perempuan dan lelakinya turut sama bermain.
1) Run Launchpad.
2) Look for Other icon. Click it. (If you look carefully the Other icon image, the Chess icon is actually shown at the center of the image.)
3) look for Chess icon. Click it.
4) Chess game runs.
5) If you are a starter, you can follow this tactic:
Go to menu Game/New...
The computer will start the game as White. You can then imitate its steps. The above settings also make the computer less brilliant (Computer thinks1 move ahead). If you keep playing in this mode, you will eventually be able to beat the computer.
I tried this tactic with my kids (age 11, 10 and 7) who are starting to play chess. Within few hours they were able to make good opening movements. Quite impressive.
